If it's Wednesday, then I'm wondering WHY? and today a RANT!!

Okay, I know that every Wednesday is a wondering why.....and I do have some pressing questions......

If I haven't mentioned it before, I HATE milk. Milk and cheese and the like... but ever since my trainer, The Princess of Pain, informed us that 8oz of chocolate milk was the PERFECT recovery food - the right amount of protein, carbs and sugar to replenish the muscles, WHY can I now suddenly drink it? Really?! Is it because Purdy pretty much walks on water for me? Is it because I believe EVERY word out of her mouth? Is it because my drive for perfection in my body is stronger than my hatred of milk and I can now somehow choke down a quick 8oz?

If Tiburon falls down during yoga whilst in the tree pose, and no one is around, will she still make a noise?

WHY does Tuffy's Physics teacher need to make his grade calculations so complicated? Is it because he is a physics teacher and therefore smarter than the rest of us? WHY? It just confuses us..... really. Simplify dude.

And now, for the biggest question of all. Warning - it's going to proceed a rant the size of which I haven't spewed in quite some time. You may want to just go ahead and quit reading now. You may or may not agree with me and I may nor may not get hate comments. But whatever. This is my blog and I can do whatever I want to. You don't like it? Go rant on your own blog.
WHY WHY WHY the Obama love-fest??? Really!?!?!? Okay, I get it. He is the first African-American president. I get the fact that it is historic for that reason. But really, the way the media is treating him, you'd think he was the long-awaited messiah. ENOUGH ALREADY!! He hasn't DONE anything yet, but talk.
WHY the uber-extreme hype over this particular inauguration? For the very fact that it is historic, shouldn't that mean that we have reached equality in this nation and therefore his inauguration should have been just like every other incoming president? If we are all equal, then why did his merit such extra special treatment? It's like the chicken and the egg I suppose. How does one answer that question? It's historic, but for the very reason it's historic, it should have been equal to every other presidential inauguration.
And don't get me started on the benediction. Taken directly from the text.
"Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around ... when yellow will be mellow ... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen."
What the??!!!? When was white NOT embracing right? As a Caucasian, I just got seriously dissed! And as part "brown", I have always been allowed to stick around. When was I asked to leave? I don't remember that......
I found an interesting commentary on Glenn Beck's site that is worth reading
It does give food for thought.
Now, let me state for the record. There isn't anyone who wants President Obama to succeed more than I. It's in all our best interests for his administration to be successful. And I pray every day for divine assistance for him and those he chooses to surround himself with. That being said though, I am afraid of his known associates, but I am even more afraid of his unknown associates (yes, I do think there is more to his story than we know).
And finally, I am sick and tired of the love-fest! I am tired of hearing nothing on the TV but the Obama's, the O'bama's, the O'bama's. He's in, he's president. Now let's move on and see what he does.

Whew, I feel better. Take it or leave it, I got this off my chest and now, I too am determined to move forward. I'm turning off the news channels and finding a good re-run of Law & Order.......
Happy Wednesday and if anyone has the answers to my burning questions, do please, enlighten me.....

i think I love you even more now.
Glenn said it better than me. He is awesome.

There was another article that summed up my feelings exactly:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1123922/MELANIE-PHILLIPS-Sorry-party-pooper-I-share-swooning-Obama-hysteria.html

But what’s more than a wee bit troubling is that the swooning hysteria reflects the fact that people appear to believe that as of today the world will be saved. Swords will be beaten into ploughshares, peace will be brought to the Middle East, Iran will be pacified, every American will have health insurance, poverty will be eliminated and utopia will have arrived.

Sorry to be a party pooper but I’m afraid I must register a small note of dissent. It’s not just that people have projected onto the person of Obama expectations that - especially given the world financial crisis - cannot possibly be met.

I think that the desperate dangerousness and complexity of our world and a profound terror of what properly facing up to its problems would entail have led people to believe a cartoon version of why we’re in such a state - and to have invested their hopes similarly in a fantasy figure of hope, to such an extent that they have shut their ears to some very loud warning bells ringing from his past history.

All hail The Most Merciful Messiah Lord Barack Obama!!!

I don't follow politics. I missed the inauguration. Thanks for enlightening me on the benediction.

I swear, physics teachers do that kind of grade crap on purpose. I'm pretty sure they are trying to prove something.

all very thought provoking questions.

Here's one answer:
One of the primary characteristics of the left especilally the progressives as they like to be called, is projection. One of their defining characteristics is that they are incapable of respect.

Why do you think they worship Obama? Because they don’t know how to have simple respect even for one of their own. They substitute unrestrained emotion instead.

the double standard is outrageous and i feel obama should have stood up as, now the most powerful man in america, and put a stop the the foolishness - put a stop to the booing of president Bush and addressed the self indulgent prayer.

I love milk. I just had a big old glass this morning.

And I think the historic nature, combined with the fact that Bush is finally gone, makes people go crazy for him.

And honestly, ALL inagurations are crazy in size and the amount of money spent, so I don't have an issue with that fact.

Oh, and I had to mute the invocation.

Oh and I totally missed the beginning of this post - cause i just wanted to skip straight to the rant.

Milk? REALLY!?! I feel like I don't even know you anymore. Way to cave to peer pressure.

And I think I will still make a noise when I fell over. I will let you know the next time I attempt tree pose all by my lonesome.

Okay my sweet wonderful aunti m of mine!!! I AGREE with you about the 'obama' fest. yeah SO DUMB. All I can say to that is AMEN sista!!!!
And, by the way, milk is actually bad for your body...but I'm no trainer and I'm no nutritionist. But I totally did a ten page paper about it in college. Maybe someday you should read it. :)
But hey nothing's wrong with drinking some chocolate milk every so often! :) Well it's all just a theory anyhow...don't ask Trevor what he thinks cuz he REALLY loves milk! lol! :)

Anytime inauguration stuff came on yesterday, I changed channels. There is so much hype surrounding this guy that I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. The pedastal will shorten, and before too long, I'm afraid. Let's just see what he can do...

I wrote a post a few hours ago that says almost EXACTLY what you said about the Obama love-fest. I haven't published it because......I'm still not sure how I feel about it.

I understand why it's a big deal. But I think it's been made into a bigger deal than it should be. I mean, since when does Nickelodeon send a corrospondent to the inauguration?

I just hope that all the hype means the media will pay a lot of attention to everything he does as president. They should be as tough on him as they were on Bush.

When I was a kid, maybe 9 or 10, I grabbed a can of Nestle Qwik to make some chocolate milk. There was a maggot in the chocolate milk mix. I've never been able to drink chocolate milk since. The end.

Oh yeah, and kind of ironic that the Dow dropped so much yesterday if he's supposed to save the world.
