Thankful Thursday

So much to be thankful for this week....

For my Splenda Daddy. Dude is a serious rockstar! He's been my legs for the past 5 days. If he could even shower and pee for me, he would. I don't know what I would do without him.

For the invention of crutches. They suck, but at least I think I can be a bit more mobile. I can get to the front room now and look out the window......longingly.......

For a fantastic MD. He listens to me, takes into consideration what my gut says, never rushes me and takes a personal interest in me and my health. He's the bomb-diggity!

For understanding family. Saturday is our family bonco night. Yes, we play bonco as a family. No money involved. Just whoever hosts gets dollar prizes. We like to call it our "trailer trash" version of Bonco. Good.Times. I don't get to go this time because of the stupid pager, but they are kind and understanding. I hope my "ghost player" wins for me! I so want that big bottle of bubbles!

For my sons. Both of them have been super helpful this week. Running errands. Fetching me this or that. Driving me to the doctor. Getting my beverage from the Sev and doing it right! My concoction is a form of art, and they have it down!

For the freedom of speech. With all the hooly-rah surrounding us now, I am grateful that if want to speak up we can. So yes, that senator called Obama a liar in the middle of the speech. Okay, maybe the timing was disrespectful, BUT, he has the right to say it, and for that I am grateful.

That Mama Dorene is coming to town. That means my race t-shirt quilt is with her. That means I get it in my hot little hands soon. That makes me happy!!

Anything you're thankful for today?

I am thankful for freedom of speech, too. I hope we can continue to have that freedom, that we won't be afraid to say what we think, anywhere, about any of our leaders. I also hope that we will continue to have the religious freedoms that we enjoy now . . .

And, get well soon, girl - I KNOW that walking around on crutches sucks! That T-Shirt quilt couldn't be being delivered at a more perfect time, could it? Can't wait to see the pics!
