Cancun day 7 – Another day in Paradise

I woke up, and knew right away, the gym wasn’t happening. Still no voice and feeling crappy in my head.  Instead I slathered up, loaded my bag, took some cold medicine and headed for the beach. Once I got settled in, I promptly fell asleep and didn’t wake up until 2 hours later. TWO HOURS!!! Oh my, oh my, oh my! It.was.splendid.  I wonder what is in that cold medicine I found in the farmacia?
Splenda Daddy showed up and we wandered over to the veranda for a breakfast buffet.

Fresh fruit, tamales, all kinds of wonderful Mexican breakfast delights. After stuffing our faces, he went back to the room and to enjoy the scenery from the balcony and I went back to the beach.

After slathering some more sunscreen, decided it was time to cook the other side for a couple of hours. What a wonderful feeling. The only decision to make is how much time you should sun on each side. The only reason to care about time is to know when to flip. Simply paradise.

I think everyone else was about sunned out

Okay, maybe not EVERYONE.  While a worker was digging a pit for an umbrella, a cool shell was found!

Another lovingly gaze

About 3, I wandered up to the room, cleaned up and met DB and WB for some shopping. There is a wonderful mall about a half mile down the road called La Isla. It is a HUGE outdoor mall. Not a flea market – no one hassling you, but the shops are incredible. Of course, many are WAY out of my price range, but it’s fun to look. I found a great deal on a silver ring. Goes great with the silver earrings I found a couple of days ago. We checked out the aquarium and watched the sun set.

A couple hours later we headed back to the resort and met up with everyone for dinner at the Hacienda Sisal. Again. I love that place. Tableside guac. Filet mignon with peppercorn sauce. Salsa with the best kick ever!

After dinner the kids went to the casino (you only have to be 18 to gamble ) and the adults went back to La Isla for The Chocolate City. My all time favorite dessert is there. A carrot cake to frigging DIE for! I had been thinking about this carrot cake since our flights had been booked months ago!

(World's tallest chocolate fountain)

It didn’t disappoint. It never disappoints.

The kids met us and we made our way back to the resort for our laaaaaaaaasssssssttttttt niiiiiiiiiggggghhhhhttttt. I hate Friday’s in Cancun. HATE THEM! It just means that I go home the next day, and I am never ready to. This trip has been especially fun and I am just not ready for it to end. I need just one more week. I would even take just 3 more days!
