Cancun day 8 – Do I REALLY have to go home?

Warning - there may or may not be some serious weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth happening today. Trying to stay happy, but really, it’s just kind of bittersweet.

Woke up early again, and no go for the gym. I really should have, and I even felt like I could, but then as I calculated time. I could go to the gym for an hour and the beach for an hour or go to the beach for two hours. Hmmm……not even a choice there right?

I headed down and got settled in next to my niece who had been there since 6am. It was now 6:45am. She had a wonderful time watching the sun rise, finding shells and enjoying the serenity that comes from early mornings.

I laid for an hour soaking the sun in my face. Wishing I could figure out a way to buy my own villa down here. I then flipped over and started the thought process all over again. Is there anyway I could possibly swing this? Prolly, except for one thing. Splenda Daddy and his aversion to debt. I am grateful he’s so good with the finances, but I covet a place down here like you wouldn’t believe. I am lucky to be invited with my family often and hopefully, we’ll get another chance to get down here when Sissy is a little bit older. Both Luka and Tuffy have decided that their honeymoon’s will be here. Maybe I could swing a tag along then too? No?

After my last two hours of the beach, I cleaned up, we packed, bought one last souvenir and headed down to check out.

We took our bags, sat on the veranda and just enjoyed the sun, the view and some last minute pictures.

A couple of notes of interest.  1 - don't bother with the pedicure BEFORE the beach.  It won't last

Mexican papers are very graphic

There were some mixed emotions about leaving.  Tuffy was ready to see his GF again.  Luka was a little bugged

And SB was just plain exhausted!  : )

Too soon, the shuttle picked us up, dropped us off at the airport and we were once again standing in lines.  Lines to check in.  Lines for customs.  Lines for lunch.  Gate change.  Flight delay.  Waiting and waiting.  Now that I was in the airport, I just wanted to be done and be home.

I took some more cold medicine and my dramamine so I slept the whole flight home.  Loved, setting foot in the SLC International.  Organized, and speedy.  Within a short time, we were picked up by Shark and her ultra-cool minivan and sloshing our way home in the snow.  Boo.  Hiss.

The trip was absolutely wonderful.  The friends and family there all made it just the best time!  We saw and did some things we hadn't seen or done before.  We shared some fun times, and special experiences.

I love that place.  I could seriously never get tired of it.
Now, it's back to this little reality we like to call life.  I can't believe March is almost half over, and there are still a ton of things on the agenda!  Oy Vay!  Better get a running start!

I can't even put into words how happy I am that you are home.

I missed you more than the sea.

I am SO jealous right about now. I think it is time for me to plan a trip to Cancun (and when I do I might be asking you for some tips and the hotel info!)
I couldn't bring myself to workout today either but sat in front of the tv not the beach. lamespice.

I'm sorry you had to come home to snow. You should've had the plane let you off down here. Hell, you could've just run across the border.
