Slang Gang Word of the Day

March 23: Stealth-call

When you have to call someone back but don't want to talk to them, so you wait until you know they can't talk and leave a voice mail.

"I don't want to tell Karen I can't make it tonight, so I'll Stealth-call her when she's on her flight and has her phone shut off."

**Don't even try to deny that you haven't done this.  We ALL do.  Best thing ever!**

I would be afraid to even try to deny this...

PS...Vegas Vacation...one of our fave movies EVER! We totally used that "yella" line over and over this past week...hilarious!

Yep - I can relate - I think that's why I'm so attracted to texting :)

You know you can sly-dial them and it goes directly to their voicemail, right?

Should I be admitting that I do this frequently? Or, more truthfully, screen my phone calls and then call back when I know they won't be available. I really hate talking on the phone.

oh, I won't deny it.

I think my picture is in the Urban Dictionary next to this word...I'm a chronic stealth-caller. ...but only to certain people!

Oh hell ya!!! Whoever invented voice mail deserves a medal.

And while we're on the subject of awards (we were, right?), whoever invented text messaging deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Seriously, I hate talking on the phone and I'd rather text someone so they can get back to me at their convenience. Less intrusive.
