Thankful Thursday

What a great Thursday...

I am Thankful for Dr Lewis and the staff at Summit Pain Management. While she confirmed the diagnosis of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, she also gave us hope. It's in the early stages. That's a good thing. Starting pain meds tonight. Will do an injection next week. The goal is to get me walking on that leg ASAP. We left there with the best news we could have gotten. Side note. They are finding there is possibly a genetic tie to developing this syndrome. My Mom has Fibromyalgia. Doc thinks that the stress fx initiated my body to develop the syndrome. And yet ANOTHER thing I can blame on my Mom. I've already told her this. She.is.sorry. : )

I am Thankful for the sun. Yesterday was so gloomy and depressing. I don't do well in the winter months. Today, the sun was out. Splenda opened the blinds and the bedroom window and I could smell the fresh cut grass and admire his new fence.

I am Thankful for modern medicine. Between my little buddy Ethan's scare and my whole stupid leg crap, I am left wondering....what in the world did people do before the miracle of all the technology that we have now? I am glad to live in the time that I do.

I am Thankful for my ever loving, ever present, ever supportive Splenda Daddy. Serious. They don't come like him anymore and I married WAY above me. There are no words.

Anything in particular you are thankful for?

**Final thanks to the Shark for always letting me lift the logo**

I'll be thankful when I hear you're walking and running again.

I need the sun, too. I don't do well in gray skies which is why I wanted to move down here so badly.

I am thankful that Luvpilot took pity on my laziness today and offered to run to In-n-Out Burger for dinner. Just hope he doesn't get his car dirty or I'm sure it will be my fault.

Great things to be thankful for. I hope that the things you are doing and continue to do will help you heal quickly.

Yay for sun and fresh mowed grass!

I'm thankful you got a diagnosis, and that it was a best case scenario. I'll be MORE thankful when you report you are good as new.

Now, I don't want to sound all gooey and slobbery, but at this moment I am thankful for YOU!

I've been reading through a lot of our mutual friends' posts, and have seen your comments there, and I've thought, "That Melissa, she always has my back!"

I think being slightly further along the old parenting trail than a lot of these wonderful women gives us a chance to see things from a slightly different place. And it's great to have you there, either saying what I was thinking, or saying, "Yep. DeNae and I have been there."

I love you, Melissa! Have a wonderful weekend.

p.s. I'm sorry you've been hurting! I guess I missed a post or two. And how is your husband doing after his scare a few months ago? I meant to ask you that when we had dinner together but the opportunity never really came up.
