Waaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!

Dear Runner:

We regret to inform you that your name was not selected in the 2009 St. George Marathon lottery. We randomly selected 7200 runners of the 10,510 registrants from 49 states and 10 countries. We wish that we had the ability to accept all registrants.

We have made available 72 additional spots in the race through our Charity Support Program. If you are interested, please contact the individual charities through our website at www.stgeorgemarathon.com.

Please note we do not keep a waiting list - please, no phone calls.

If you have registered for the St. George Marathon the last two years (2008 and 2009), and have not been selected, you will qualify in 2010 for our "Third Time's a Charm" program. If you choose to register in 2010, you will not have to go through the lottery and will be guaranteed a spot in the race. We hope you will be able to join us for a future marathon.

St. George Marathon Staff

It's seeming like most of the people I know did not get in. It blows. I'm sorry.

This sounds suspicious. Who would turn you down? I think money was involved.

I'm sooo sorry. My Ultimate Bestie is going to run a marathon in San Fran in September. Do you want me to see what it takes to get registered in that one?

You can have my slot, Melissa. It's in the "deceased" category, but I can wait another year. I'm sorry you're so bummed, but can I say that picture of the crying girl is freaking cute?? Freaking. Not just regular cute.

Hey, but good news for 2010, right? And if you keep eating all those Ding Dongs, Doritos, and Milk Duds, you just might need that race. (Whatever. You'll never gain a lb, no matter what you do and I hate you for it.)

That sucks. St. George has the best course in the state, too.
But, you're planning on doing Logan, right?

Let's hook up and do some of the Provo River races this summer. They will help you train.

Are you getting psyched for Ragnar?!!

So sorry.....after my first Marathon as a witness...(not like I'd EVER be a participant) I sort of understand the importance of getting to run. I found a new admiration for runners...and for the mental and physical strength. I bow to those of you who can push your bodies like that.
