Word verification and why it sucks

It's finally come to this.  I hate it, but I have no choice.

The STUPID word verification is on.  Why?  Becuse some yuk -yuk in China or Japan or someplace like that needs to spam and add comments in their foreign language.

Not that I don't love me some foreign language.  I do.  But how do I know they aren't calling me a stupid B or even *gasp* worse?

They could totally be swearing or putting something completely filthy and inappropriate and I would have no idea.  They could then be showing all their friends and they would be talking and mocking and pointing their fingers and laughing.  All the while, I have no clue what is happening.  Come to think of it, it's kinda like going to the nail place.  I swear they are talking about me.

Don't even get me started on the spam comments I CAN understand. Clarification - I can read them, but I can't understand what the crap they are talking about since the comment has nothing to do with the post, but more like thanks for letting me apply to college.  HUH?

Sure, I could moderate comments, but that is just a lot of email that I really can't deal with.  One email to say you have a comment, another to tell you it posted.  Whatev.  Who has time for that crap? Not me

Instead, we are all gonna have to suffer through the word verification and hope that the spam stops.  And I apologize to those of you whom already have it on and I have loudly complained.  Sorry.

Stupid spamers.

I probably shouldn't say this, since I'm sure I'm asking for trouble, but I haven't had a single spammer in over a year. I wonder where they are coming from?

I know. I hate the WV, too, but had to put it on. Sucks. But they're much worse on FB. I can never read those. At least on blogger the letters are usually intelligible.

p.s. love the nail salon comment. :o)

Huh. I just posted and didn't even notice, so it's all good here in Laurieville.

I agree with you about the nail salon. Intensely dislike that.

I haven't had any spam since I banned Anonymous commenters.

I will suffer thru the word verifications for you M-Cat. It must be done.

And everytime I get my nails did I consider studying Korean or Thai or something (depending on the salon's heritage and language) just so I know what the heck is so funny all the time! or maybe I should just start laughing and nodding with the nail peeps? That might be fun.

I was getting, those, too. I tried no anon. comments. This person just went to weird names like "33". I am now trying the "moderation for comments on posts 14 days old or older". Because that's what most of them are on. I will try it but if it doesn't work, then I will have to go to WV. DAng it!
have a "runhily" night!

Me too, girl. Me too. And I have actually had them translated on those free translation websites. They're all nonsense words jumbled together, with a few "sex" thrown in for good measure. It makes me ask myself, WHY? What are they getting out of it?

And even after I put modification on, I still get a few. I haven't resorted to the word verf. yet....but I'm seriously considering it!
