Whirlwind Weekend - Chapter III - I meet Chief and am starstruck

So we discovered through FB that Chief and I have a mutual friend.  Who happens to be my nephew who works at her school.  Small world eh?

I have been wanting to meet this lady for like FOREVER!  She is seriously one of the funniest women ever and I get her!  I get her humor.  We have some similarities in personality and background, and sometimes I read her stuff and think, this is my sister!  The sister I never knew about!

I got to the reception Friday night and texted her to make sure she was coming.  She gave me some lame A excuse about her kid puking and the other one at football or something like that.  I was pissed.  She BETTER come!  I even re-applied liptick and cleaned up a bit just to meet her.  I think I guilted her into showing up.

Scene 1 - Out of the corner of my eye, I catch a flash of red hair, and wonder if it's her, but am engaged in a convo at the table and don't want to be rude and jump up and race over to her.
As I am sitting there, I hear a voice behind me say, "Are you M-Cat?"  I turn and if it isn't Bud!!!  Chief's oldest spawn!  Right there in the freakin flesh!  I jumped up and, as he put it, my eyes lit up like a Christmas tree!  I even made the poor kid let me hug him!!

Scene 2 - I grab my camera and prolly left the convo mid sentence without even excusing myself from the table and raced calmly walked over to the object of my adoration.  The Chief.

Did I mention, I got to meet Chief???

Yeah - I really got to meet Chief!!

She's everything I imagined her to be!  Sassy, spunky, funny as all crap, and easy to talk to and be around!

All three of us.

Our best model poses.  Bud wins for being the best model

And with Justin - the catalyst for our meeting IRL

I soon got the idea, that Chief isn't the touchy, feely, gimme a big ole hug type.  See how much space she created between us?  I'm sure she went home thinking that M-Cat is bat shiz crazy with her wanting to hug and all that crap!

The sweetest part of the night?
When Bud asked his Mom to dance......

Pretty sure that I could adopt that boy and be perfectly happy!  He is sweetheart and a cutie-patootie!

Meeting Chief was so much fun.  Next time, I would like a lunch date.  I promise no hugging or acting like a start struck teenager again!  It's just that she is one of my blogging idols and I got carried away in the moment.

I can now check off my list - make arse of myself at a wedding in front of virtual strangers.
And if you are NOT already reading and following Chief, you should.  You are SO missing out!

Love ya girl!  And your little Bud too!

I'm DYING laughing right now.

I met my Chiefer's back in May. She's one of my best friends in real life that I met through blogging.

She's a wonderful person, but yes...she is NOT a hugger. I hugged her when I picked her up at the airport and I thought she was going to roll me into a ball and punt my Hugh Jass to the baggage claim corral. Then I hugged her when I dropped her off. Still, she wasn't having it.

I also think it's weird that your star struck. Chief is NOT a star! I AM. You should be dying to meet MEEEEEE!

I'm so glad you got to meether, but remember next time: no huggie the Chiefy!

This. Is. Awesome.

I. Am. Dying.

So glad you could break Chiefy outta her shell. Hug her some more....she needs the desensitization therapy before I meet her in a few months. I am Huggy McHuggerston. Ima be all up in her personal space. It's my mission. To make her as uncomfortable as possible. But it's be ok....cuz she already loves me.

Oh, and she already loves you too. She tole me so. Cuz you had her back. So I'm pretty sure you're forgiven for the lovin'.

And don't let Jenn fool you. I am the real star of this show.

That is so cool! Meeting ANY of my blogging friends would be awesome! However, I can say that Chief, personally, is the catalyst for a whole slew of you new friends for me. And I am having a ball!
Would love to meet her!
