Tickle Me Pink Tuesday - illustrated version......

I am tickled pink that we got the Yankee room finished and my official MLB bedding came.

I am tickled that my boys now have beautiful bedroom sets. The idea was to give them something nice that they could take with them when they got married and moved out.

And I'm tickled that Splenda finally found the right size of this piece of art that we have been wanting. Tuffy gave us some cash for Christmas in 2008. If my kids give us cash for gifts, we turn it into a piece of art for our home. Everytime I look at the painting I want to remember what that boy gave us.President George Washington kneeling in prayer at Valley Forge. I love it.

What's tickling you pink today?

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday

I am absolutley tickled by the email and video that my BFC sent me yesterday. She asked me to post this and what my BFC asks for, she gets!

This wasn't a hard request to fill since as you know I am HUGE proponent of breast cancer research and the causes that go with it. This post here might remind you of how it has touched my own life and why it is so important to me.

I've snoped the email and find it to be valid:
Here’s the story behind the video…

“Our daughter-in-law, Emily (MacInnes) Somers, created, directed and choreographed this in Portland last week for her Medline glove division as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness. This was all her idea to help promote their new pink gloves.

I don't know how she got so many employees, doctors and patients to participate, but it started to really catch on and they all had a lot of fun doing it.

When the video gets 1 million hits, Medline will be making a huge contribution to the hospital, as well as offering free mammograms for the community. Please check it out. It's an easy and great way to donate to a wonderful cause, and who hasn't been touched by breast cancer?

Ann Somers

Throw something pink on, turn the volume up and dance along -it's super fun and I love watching the people who clearly are out of their comfort zone dancing. BUT they did it anyway, knowing it was for a good cause!

Or you can go here for the YouTube hit.

And since it's a new month, have you done your check? If not, get on it! Give those ta-ta's a good once over!

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday & a little Ticked Too version

I haven't done this version for awhile, and well, that is how I'm rollin these days:

I am tickled pink that I don't have the piggy flu!
But I am TICKED that the Shark is sick. Really! We've had to reschedule our GNO like 3 times now, and I'm getting a little bugged! Stupid oink oink flu.

I am tickled pink that my job is flexible enough that I can work from home while I am fighting this back crap.
But I am TICKED that someone hasn't invented a way for me to lay flat in bed and work on the laptop. Could someone get on that? You'd make millions.

I am tickled pink with the change back to standard time. This is how my body grooves. This is me. This is my internal clock.
But I am TICKED that come next spring, I have to go through the whole "spring forward" and never feel right until we "fall back" again.

I am tickled pink that I have such a self-sufficient son. He is more than capable of taking care of himself and his needs.
But I am TICKED that when he makes a run to Wendy's for dinner, I get no invite. For reals dude?

I am tickled pink that I can exercise still. A little (work with me here).
But I am TICKED that I am stuck in the pool. I believe I am starting to reek of chlorine. It ain't pretty. Soon I may end up being one big toxic cloud of chlorine.

And finally, I am tickled pink that I came home from a doctor's appointment today to a bag on my door with this: (What the crap? Why does it load right and then post crooked? arrrgh)

I've sung DD's praises before. And she never ceases to amaze me with her thoughfulness! I shall treasure my "bubby" forever. Let's name her..........

and with that, I got NOTHING to be ticked off about!

Tickle me Pink Tuesday - Part II

No explanation necessary.......oh how I love her!

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday - illustrated version......

I'm just feeling so pink today!!

I realize hot pink is not appropriate for this time of the year and season, but who cares! I feel very pinkish, and besides October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and it's ALL about pink. So throw convention out the window, and bring out your PINK!

I am tickled that I saw my orthopod this morning that he was encouraged by my progress and when I expressed how frustrated I was that this was taking so long, he kindly reminded me that while my stress fracture was relatively small, the CRPS complicates it and it will take longer than normal to heal. That made me feel better and a little more justified as to why I still feel pain. I'm a tough girl, but this has made me feel like a wuss. His words made me feel like I wasn't be such a baby, I had a good reason.

I was tickled pink that Splenda and I went to the gym this morning and I did 45 minutes on a bike with no pain! I see progress, I see myself getting back to where I need to be. I got all winter, but I will be running again!!

I was tickled pink when my son C and his friend C brought me dinner and treats last nightMy favorite Subway sandwich and of course the always loved Milk Duds. I forgot to get in the picture the perfect beverage concoction from the Sev.

Thanks kids I loved it and I appreciate it so much!!

Anything particularly tickling you pink today?

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday - illustrated version......

Today I went for a Lumbar Sympathetic Block. The idea behind the block is two-fold. One, it will definitely confirm CRPS or rule it out. (I was confirmed),

Two, and more importantly, it affects the nerves and give pain relief so that I can walk and move more around on my leg.

Bright and early my BFF SIL picked me up and off we went to

here

After a brief wait I was called back to the procedure area. Donned a lovely gown and was reminded of the things that would take place.
An IV was placed and I was laid on the procedure table. Face down. As they pulled my good girls down to get to the proper area to insert the needle in the lumbar area, I did have to remind them that I DID NOT want and wise cracks about my fat butt. No comments on the dimples they would run into. Nothing.

They gave me some relaxation drugs. I stayed awake but was very calm, relaxed and a bit high and drowsy.

They numbed the area in my back, turned on the xray machine to watch as she inserted the large needle into the appropriate area.

She injected the wonderful drugs. Cleaned me up, and moved me to a post op area to recover.

After a short recovery time, where they did some testing on the temperature of my feet and how my leg was feeling, I got dressed and staggered out to the waiting area and to my BFF SIL.

I was on cloud 9! Okay, so I have a little pain where the fracture is, but overall, the rest of the pain is GONE!. I have to do some rubbing of my thigh, but was given the go ahead to begin walking, cycling and swimming. No running. No elliptical machine, but I can live with that for now! Before.....

AFTER!!

I go back for another block next Monday, continue the Lyrica meds, but I am no longer chained to these stupid crutches and I can go back to the gym!

As I type this, I am still very high from the relaxation drugs, but overall, I am feeling so good and so happy I just want to shout with joy! I am MORE than tickled pink.

But I can't finish this story without sharing my experience last night. I asked my husband for a priesthood blessing. It was beautiful. It was soothing and calming. He is such a good man, and I know that his words were from my Heavenly Father.

After the blessing we went downstairs and watched Elder Holland's talk. It was the icing on the cake for me.

That spirit was still with me as I walked into that office this morning and is still lingering. Life is good. Life is very good indeed. Earlier yesterday I wanted to give up. I wanted to crawl into bed, pull the covers over my head and cry until I slept. And then sleep for weeks without waking up. That's how down I was.

Amazing how asking for the Lord's help, putting faith in Him, and in those who are to care for you, can change one's attitude.

Yeah, I am tickled PINK!

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday

I have "met" some pretty fun and pretty amazing people via this whole bloggy thing-a-ma-jig. Really. Come waaaaayyyyyy cool people!

There's also these things called blog awards and I'm always THRILLED when someone picks me to bestow an award to. It's like NOT being picked last for the team in grade school. But since I promised my therapist I wouldn't dwell on THAT anymore, 'nuff said.

I found this uber cool blogger - JennyMac at Let's Have a Cocktail and quite frankly, she is hysterical. I laugh at her writing and I picture her as a very sophisticated, educated professional who amuses everyone around her with her smart talk and sassy lip.

She is one of the "cool kids" and she gave me an award

I kinda feel like I got asked to sit at the popular table in the lunchroom!

Thanks JennyMac!

Now, if you haven't read her, get over there NOW!

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday....Illustrated version

Been a little under the weather, but more on that later. For now, I have just been tickled by all the love and friendship shown me......

A bestie who invites me AND my brood for Sunday dinner last week. No, I didn't get any pictures, but we got to enjoy a special family treat pasta dinner that is equal to NONE! And let us hang out, play Wii and basically veg for awhile. The change in scenery was nice and it was right after my major pain, so it was desperately needed!

A bestie, who also happens to be my VT brought a yummy dinner in on Sunday. Can I say....nice to have Splenda relieved for a spell. He's been doing triple duty and getting tired. The dinner, was just what we both needed. Thank you DD!!

Today was my first day back in the office. I seriously have the best work besties a girl could ask for! She and She, were at my every beck and call. Helped me down for my flu shot, grabbed things off the printer, brought me breakfast, helped me get my lunch, even fixing my salad and getting my CDFC with vanilla concoction just right! I couldn't ask for better!

Across the street besties who brought over a fun, FAT FREE treat!! They know I am sitting here crying about not working out and listening to myself get fatter, so they were kind enough to bring a treat that I not only LOVE, but can enjoy guilt-free!

More special friends who thought of me at Swiss days. Grandma saw this puzzle, son said "GRAB THAT ONE!! M-Cat needs that one!!!" Seriously, when someone sends a little Yankee something my way, it warms my heart and makes my feelers feel good. Thanks Elder C's parents!!

I am a lucky, blessed girl who is just "tickled pink" by all the good people surrounding me!!

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday - illustrated version......

A certain Shark just spent the weekend in NYC and brought me this:Apparently it is an Evil Eye bracelet! I heart it! Not only is it going to offer me good luck and protection, but it kinda reminds one of Skittles. Sort-n-soothe....sort-n-soothe....

Said Shark also had lunch with the fabulous Kado - who was kind enough to send home this:Feels a little sacrilegious to eat it, I might have to just enjoy the display in my Yankees room. Heart you Kado! Thanks!

And then quite simply, SHE tickles me pink. Just being her....

What a great Tuesday it is!

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday

I am just "tickled pink" by the cookies that were MINE when I got home. I had prolly the crappiest meeting at work that I have EVER had. One that sent me to the bathroom in tears. One that had me so mad I was shaking for a long time afterwards. One that when I think about it even now, I get all worked up.

But a certain Shark who seems to know just the right thing at just the right time, came to my door with Chocolate Chip cookies WITHOUT the chocolate chips!!!!! Yessssssssss! Best evah!

Thanks Shark - luv ur guts!!!

**yes there were several more than just these four - I already ate them

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday - illustrated version......

I heart friend's.
Friend's that understand when I need to sort n soothe.
That make sure that need is fulfilled.

Yellow's
Green's
Orange's
Red's
Purple's

Two at a time.
Don't mix colors
Don't pre-sort, just dump the bag and pick two out by color at a time.
Aaaaaahhhhhh - soothing...........

I heart Sissy. I heart Shoes. I heart Sissy and silly shoes together

I heart long birthday's. And MIL's that make you dinner and celebrate with cake. And Sissy thinking it was for her. Singing "Happy Birthday to you - co-ee."

All these things have me just "tickled pink" today!
