Ironman 3 - my official review (no spoilers)

Sheesh!  Don't worry - I'm not gonna give away any spoilers here.

Prolly cause there aren't really any to give.

My bestie got two tickets from a vendor for an early screening so when she asked if I wanted to go....well let's just say..........OF COURSE!

The tickets also included a free dinner so hey - nothing to shake my head at Jack!

The only caveat she gave me was that I was NOT allowed to bring my blankie.  See, I get cold in movie theaters, so I usually pack a blankie.  I don't like being cold.  Well, that was ixnayed right off the bat.  So instead....
she made me take them off.

Dinner was good - sandwiches from Zupa's and then we got in line and found some great seats.

After what felt like for....ev.....er...... the movie finally started.

So my official review:

meh.  'sokay.  It's Ironman.

Robert Downy Jr is as pretty as ever and when he is being Tony Stark, he was quite engaging and funny.  His relationship with a young man he meets is the best part of the entire film.  Funniest line of the whole show happens between the two of them, but I won't share it since some might find it offensive.

Gwyneth is Gwyneth.  I neither dislike her or like her.  I think they could have gone another direction with her but eh, whatev's.

Ben Kingsley?  A favorite character.  Absolute favorite.  Love him

The special effects?  There were a lot of explosions.  Like a lot.  A lof of fire and burning and blowing up of things.  All very cool.

Dialogue was witty and fast.

Storyline was typical comic book.

Sequels are never as good as originals.
Ever.

All that being said, it was a fun treat to go out on a date with my bestie.  Have dinner, watch a movie on the big screen, and escape reality for awhile.  Definitely a night of fun.

If you're an Ironman (Avengers, Superhero, Marvel Comic's ) fan - then I'll think you'll enjoy the flick.  It was true to form.  Granted no Les Miz...but then that's comparing apples to oranges isn't it?

It's def one to be seen on the big screen simply for all the blowing up of stuff so add it to your list of ones to hit the theater for.

And the most amazing part?

I only fell asleep for just a little minute.

Glad you got to go....even if it was late. Sorry, my appointment went late today. I will text you and find out when you are working next.

Every time I go to the movies, I freeze my fanny off! Would love to take a blankie, but our theater won't allow that. So I usually shiver through the whole flick!

I have only seen part of the first Iron Man and none of the others. For shame! One of these days I might just have to watch them...lol.

Hahahaha! I'm glad you fall asleep "for just a minute" like I sometimes do. I had a feeling that Ironman would be just about what you described. I'll go if the Mister wants to, but he should really go to Provo and see it with Andrew for maximum enjoyment.
