The best moment of the entire 9 day weekend

Let's face it, the cruise was just a piece of our vacation.  And it certainly was beyond fun.  I think I was pretty detailed about it HERE

The snorkeling and Cabo San Lucas was pretty wonderful as well.  The video is HERE

The time spent with my kids is even higher on the list of things I loved about our time away.  Especially, our surprise for Chloee - watch it HERE

But the ultimate, ULTIMATE best thing about the weekend?

This kid
My oldest, Corbin ('dawg), did his Momma and Daddy proud on Sunday the 19th of February.  He was ordained an Elder in our church.  For those unfamiliar with the Priesthood and it's role in our faith, click here

For those of you who are in our family, friends, or ward family circles, you have watched this kid grow up.  You've seen the challenges, rocky roads, and side adventures that our son has encountered and in turn our family grew through together.  You know what a big deal this is.  It's more than anything I could have dreamed for my son as recently as a year ago.   To see what his life choices are now, his priorities, his strength and his faith are, quite frankly, humbling.  To see him recognize his divine potential and then act by doing things to constantly make him a better husband, father and man is inspiring.  I had to text him the other night and simply ask "when did you get so smart?"

He had the opportunity to be ordained a couple of weeks ago, but waited until we could be there and his father could perform the ordinance.  There were many tears of happiness, gratitude and pride (yes, I said it) shed.

Sometimes words aren't enough to describe one's feelings, and this is one of those times.  For many, it doesn't mean much at all, and that's okay.  I know and respect that not everyone is of the same religion and faith, but hope you can understand at least the happiness that comes from seeing your child be happy.  That's really it.  To see my Corbin SO HAPPY.  There with his little family, by themselves in SoCal, they are finding their way to what they want for themselves and what Momma couldn't be happy and proud of that?

Congrats Corb - I L Y P I

ps - can't wait for June 2012...........

Additional side note - he gave me this awesome shirt from the Wounded Warrior Project
How freakin  cool is THIS??

I am so happy for you and for Corb. I know all of the struggles that you and your hubby have been through. The fact that Corb did this, away from the family goes to show you how sincere this really is.

I am so happy for him and his new family. He will be blessed for making these changes and you are lucky to be his mom.

honestly, not much better...not even a cruise--which looked delicious, btw!

i've seen and rejoiced with you in the transformation.

due to many things i am sure..things that we are not even aware of --this has come about...and one thing i know is that the example you and splenda anchored, mattered. it mattered.

i love this post.

thanks for sharing the journey with us.

I had lots of "catching up" to do here.
AWESOME..every bit. And without sounding redundant...I have to ditto pretty much what everyone else said.
The cruise looked glorious.
Snorkeling...I don't think I could do it, I have this big Phobea of putting my face under water.

And Chloe's surpise had me teary eyed as well, caus It made me think Of my grandkids, and I know how special this must have been for you.

BUT...the BEST. the Greatest JOY and fulfillment is in the accomplishments of your son. I couldn't be happier...for him, for you and everyone involved.
You, my dear friend, are a happy momma and need to be very proud.

JEALOUS about the whole cruise thing - dang nab it, I will get to go on one someday! But I have to agree, the ordination is far more special than any of that. :)

We have cruises as an option with our time share, but I have always been worried I would get a wicked case of claustorphobia. You make it sound like that is no biggie. Looks like sooo much fun! I am so happy such sweet blessings are all around you. How exciting for Corbin and his sweet family.

I love to read your blog......and no I'm not a stalker. I came across it when I became Facebook friends with Corbin. Corbin came and installed our DISH equipment one day and he told us about his future plans so I wanted to follow him. I remembered him from West Jordan Elem. and he remembered me......good ol' Miss Crump. We had the best visit and I was impressed with his goals. I'm sooooo excited for him and his recent ordination. Please let him know of my admiration for him and how he is reaching his goals. I'm so happy things are turning out for him. Thanks for not making your blog private........I've enjoyed your thoughts and humor.
