Looks like all he had to do was put his name in the blanks. And it is nice to get a list of what things we cannot send him.
It was also nice to get a letter from his Gunnery Sergeant. I can only imagine the strong DI's that have him now. I imagine he both hates and respects them at the same time.
I love the picture of a Marine in dress blues saluting!
So now, we need to get our travel taken care of. Had a surprise call from the Colonel last night. He is coming to graduation too! But ssssshhhhhhh......it's a surprise for 'dawg.
I think about him every day, wondering what he's doing, how he's holding up, basically wondering at every single detail of his day. And of course, watching the mail like a HAWK!
In my heart, I feel like he is beating some arse and taking names but at the same time, getting his own butt kicked HARD. I just hope to get some mail that confirms it for me!
Semper Fi
I would be disliking the form letter too. Hopefully you'll get something real from him soon!
ReplyDeleteWhen I go to SD on Friday, I will wave in his direction!
ReplyDeleteWhy do I cry everytime I read about your son? I know you are excited to hear from him.
ReplyDeleteForm letters are lame. You are right. What a fun vacation you will have in San Diego for his graduation!!!
ReplyDeleteI would be thinking of him (if it were my son) every moment of every day too.
ReplyDeleteHe is taking on a BIG responsibility!!!! We all admire and respect him for that.
and I hope you get lots of letters with lots of details..........
serious butt kicking going on and he is loving every minute of it MOM!
ReplyDeleteI can see that even the smallest communication means so much.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of form letters, either. But I guess it looks like this might be one he had to send. Here's hoping for a real live letter soon for Mom!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog and I look forward to reading it! I love the title of your blog! I love the office and Micheal Scott! I am so sad the he is leaving the show! :(
ReplyDeleteI love that you are a Marine recruit Mom! You must be proud! Tell him thanks for his service! I love our country and I am proud to be an American!
Your granddaughter is a doll!
I look forward to meeting you soon and making breakfast with you. I will email you soon.
I'm trying to find out why they even bother, but atleast they let him write the two and from so you know he is still alive. Making you crazy, until the next one arrives.
ReplyDeleteOf course he is doing fantastic! He is your son!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear more details from him :)
I undersatnd their need for for letters, but how hard for you to be on the recieving end.
ReplyDeleteI heart marines.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine the terror the mailman feels when passing your house everyday, wondering when you'll come flying out the door to attack the mailbox. :D
