My Marine (recruit) Monday

I really hate form letters.  REALLY.

But I also understand that right now, it's all we are going to get.  Hopefully later this week, we might get something real from him.

Looks like all he had to do was put his name in the blanks.  And it is nice to get a list of what things we cannot send him.

It was also nice to get a letter from his Gunnery Sergeant.  I can only imagine the strong DI's that have him now.  I imagine he both hates and respects them at the same time.

They also included a brochure for making our travel arrangements so we can be there for graduation

I love the picture of a Marine in dress blues saluting!

So now, we need to get our travel taken care of.  Had a surprise call from the Colonel last night.  He is coming to graduation too!   But ssssshhhhhhh......it's a surprise for 'dawg.

I think about him every day, wondering what he's doing, how he's holding up, basically wondering at every single detail of his day.  And of course, watching the mail like a HAWK!

In my heart, I feel like he is beating some arse and taking names but at the same time, getting his own butt kicked HARD.  I just hope to get some mail that confirms it for me!

  10. I'm trying to find out why they even bother, but atleast they let him write the two and from so you know he is still alive. Making you crazy, until the next one arrives.

  13. I heart marines.

I can't even imagine the terror the mailman feels when passing your house everyday, wondering when you'll come flying out the door to attack the mailbox. :D
