Hurricane Sissy - Cat 5

Batton down the hatches.  Board up the windows.  Sissy is in da house!
As evidenced after a day or so....this is what happens to the computer/toy room.  I'm one of those really laid back Mimi's though.  I figure why make her put stuff away.  If she has all her toys and books ready at hand, she can be more creative right?

I am not afraid of engaging in child slave labor though.  When it pleases me.  And if she deems it to be fun.  I figure I got her for another year or two until she realized that cleaning the toilet in a house full of boys is G.R.O.S.S.

A rare moment that the stick in her hand wasn't being wielded against the dog, the walls or the railings in the banister.  It's like magic how after a time or two of getting whacked, those sticks would slowly just.....disappear.  And what is on her feet?

It's the cleaning gloves of course!  BEFORE she ever used them in the bathroom.
She has this funny game of putting everything on her feet now.

Here we have two pairs of socks, a pair of slippers and some church shoes (on the wrong feet).  But she feels so clever and proud of herself, that I like to just let her be!

And this is basically how the weekend went - on the run - chasing the storm - cleaning up the aftermath.
I wouldn't have it any other way!

  1. She would get along great with my youngest daughter ... she is into wearing multiple pairs of undies ... when I ask why ... she says .."aren't I cute?" ... which always cracks me up...

Thanks for sharing the ultra-cute photos

  5. You need to save the "toilet" picture. She will die when she is 11! Let her make a mess; that's what grand-kids are for! I can tell that Sissy is a character.

  6. All that fun and creativity bottled up in a cute tiny body. No wonder they bounce off the walls and and all sorts of crazy things.

  7. Way to use her for child labor. Do you rent her out? My toilet could use a good scrubbing.

  12. One of my new observations in my own life is that if I parented the way I grandparent my kids may have been better off.

  14. so, yeah, the cleaning gloves on the feet? undeniably adorable! and i can so relate to cleaning the toilet. it was my fave chore for like all my life. i had special songs i would make up & sing, not to mention an awesome potty-cleaner's hat for when i was scrubbing. (the hat was the early 80's quilted house shaped kleenex box-cover that went on the box on the back of the toilet.)
quite a sight to behold. good times. lol.
