Came home and immediately  Splenda and I began scheming where to put it in the Yankee Room.

The Easter Bunny came early to my desk yesterday.

Packages in the mailbox

Okay, so I had one from Kado when I came home from Mexico, but just barely got around to opening all my mail.

(a fun note with some scrapbooking items for my trip and then a full insert from her newspaper on my idol Derek Jeter.  I devoured it right away and now it will find a spot in the Yankees room.  Thanks for thinking of me Kado!

Then I had a surprise from Debbie. 

After my pathetic picture and post about having to use an "emergency candle" for Sissy's spur of the moment birthday cookie, she made note to put in my mailbox a set of REAL candles.  Now I have real emergency birthday candles that every Meemaw should have on hand.  Thanks Deb!  You ALWAYS have my back!

I am a lucky girl with kind and thoughtful friends!

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday - round 1

I am tickled pink when I come home to PRIZES!

A little bit ago, I won Kado's fabulous giveaway.  And I have to tell you, that girl NEVER disappoints!  I was out of town when the package came and despite that it had MY NAME on it, Splenda opened it up (in the name of making sure it wasn't a bomb), and then lovingly put it all back in the box and left it for me to find.

A cool reusable lunch bag.  A clock attached to the frame, a notepad, and a Starbucks gift certificate.  She included a handwritten note and then, knowing what a Yankees fan I am, she included a darling poem that her son's teacher wrote for their class for the holiday's. 

I love it all!  Trying to decide if I want to keep the clock and frame at home for everyone to enjoy or be selfish and take it to my office at work.   For now, it sits beautifully on my dresser!

And Kado - I don't even have words to tell you how much I love you.  But you already know right?  My sistah from another mistah!

Lately it seems that I have been on the receiving end of a lot of kindness. Both in word, deed and product!

Earlier this week, my MIL and two SIL's stopped by with some lovely roses and a nice card for Tuffy. They were so thoughtful about our very awful week last week.

That same night, BFF B's came over with two bags of "comfort food". Diet coke, Mtn Dew, popcorn, ding dongs, fruit gushers, peanut butter m&m's, and the movie The Proposal. They knew just what to deliver didn't they?

I wish I would have thought to grab my camera that night!


Today...... I walked into Shark's house and was bestowed with this:

I CAN.NOT wait to give this a whirl. I heard about this product from Miss Martie, and knew that I NEEDED it. Tiburon did not disappoint. I promised her that I would think of her when I slathered it all over and reveled in it's minty magic. Um. Wow. Does that make anyone else feel slightly uncomfortable?

And then, I came home to a package sitting on the counter. I ripped that sucker open as fast as I could and found these:
I mentioned to Cherie how much I liked a plate I had seen in one of her pictures and where could I find one. Next thing you know, she kindly makes (yes you read that right - MAKES) one and sends it my way, along with the softest socks in the world and a friendly card. Seriously, bloggy friends are the best. Thank you dear Cherie, and seriously, if your not already reading her? Go to! She's fantastic!
I hope we get a chance to meet IRL. I promise I'm not too scary....

Mama Dorene - How do I love thee?

Several months ago, the topic came up of all the shirts one gets with all the races one does. I have A LOT! They were just hanging in my closet because I just don't wear them again. My boss, knowing what a crafter I am, jokingly suggested I just go right ahead and make them into a quilt. Pfffffhhhttt. ME? A QUILT? Ha.Ha.Ha.

Well, Miss Martie speaks up and reminds me her Mom is a pro quilter. For reals.

Those little wheels in my little brain started to churn.......maybe, I could give all my shirts to Mama Dorene and then pay her whatever she wants and have her MAKE it for me!!

Well, being the saint that she is, she agreed. So when she came down for the birth of the twins, I handed her a sack of shirts and then patiently waited for whatever concoction she came up with.

May I say this? She.is.GENIUS! Look at this!

It is seriously the greatest ever! I love it! Every 2008 event I participated in is represented there, and the sneakers fabric is absolutely perfect!

When she unfolded it and I started running my fingers lovingly over all my different shirts, I just wanted to bawl. It is beautiful and I love it. LOVE IT!

Mama Dorene - you are the best! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
