Guess who gets his OWN post??

"And in the blue corner, weighing in at an astounding 7.3 pounds, Huuuuuuummer the Maaaaaaaaltzeeeeeeeer!!! This guy is getting huge. And he seriously gets cuter every day!"

In the words of his Mommy Kim:

"He is such a good and sweet puppy (I almost said "little" puppy....). To speak to what a good puppy he is, we have yet to find something that he has chewed up that he wasn't supposed to. He carries our shoes around, but so far he hasn't destroyed any of them. We absolutely love him!!! Not a day goes by that we don't all tell him so. I don't think that one of us loves him more than the others, and he seems to love us all equally as well. He likes to chase Maddy (and that's about the only time he barks), play with his toys with me, and watch the Jazz games with Khoi. So we each get our own special time with him. He's definitely part of our human pack. If we're home, he's stuck to us like glue. He even stands at the side of the tub while Maddy is taking a bath, and he's quite scared of the tub so for him to do that is very brave on his part. He's the perfect dog for us, I still can't believe how lucky we were in getting him. He's such a mellow and loving dog!
(As I was typing this message, one of my coworkers walked by and said "do you always smile at your computer?" I guess I was smiling while writing about Hummer. True puppy love!)

I laughed until I peed.....

If it's Wednesday, then I'm wondering WHY? and today a RANT!!

Okay, I know that every Wednesday is a wondering why.....and I do have some pressing questions......

If I haven't mentioned it before, I HATE milk. Milk and cheese and the like... but ever since my trainer, The Princess of Pain, informed us that 8oz of chocolate milk was the PERFECT recovery food - the right amount of protein, carbs and sugar to replenish the muscles, WHY can I now suddenly drink it? Really?! Is it because Purdy pretty much walks on water for me? Is it because I believe EVERY word out of her mouth? Is it because my drive for perfection in my body is stronger than my hatred of milk and I can now somehow choke down a quick 8oz?

If Tiburon falls down during yoga whilst in the tree pose, and no one is around, will she still make a noise?

WHY does Tuffy's Physics teacher need to make his grade calculations so complicated? Is it because he is a physics teacher and therefore smarter than the rest of us? WHY? It just confuses us..... really. Simplify dude.

And now, for the biggest question of all. Warning - it's going to proceed a rant the size of which I haven't spewed in quite some time. You may want to just go ahead and quit reading now. You may or may not agree with me and I may nor may not get hate comments. But whatever. This is my blog and I can do whatever I want to. You don't like it? Go rant on your own blog.
WHY WHY WHY the Obama love-fest??? Really!?!?!? Okay, I get it. He is the first African-American president. I get the fact that it is historic for that reason. But really, the way the media is treating him, you'd think he was the long-awaited messiah. ENOUGH ALREADY!! He hasn't DONE anything yet, but talk.
WHY the uber-extreme hype over this particular inauguration? For the very fact that it is historic, shouldn't that mean that we have reached equality in this nation and therefore his inauguration should have been just like every other incoming president? If we are all equal, then why did his merit such extra special treatment? It's like the chicken and the egg I suppose. How does one answer that question? It's historic, but for the very reason it's historic, it should have been equal to every other presidential inauguration.
And don't get me started on the benediction. Taken directly from the text.
"Lord, in the memory of all the saints who from their labors rest, and in the joy of a new beginning, we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around ... when yellow will be mellow ... when the red man can get ahead, man; and when white will embrace what is right. That all those who do justice and love mercy say Amen."
What the??!!!? When was white NOT embracing right? As a Caucasian, I just got seriously dissed! And as part "brown", I have always been allowed to stick around. When was I asked to leave? I don't remember that......
I found an interesting commentary on Glenn Beck's site that is worth reading
It does give food for thought.
Now, let me state for the record. There isn't anyone who wants President Obama to succeed more than I. It's in all our best interests for his administration to be successful. And I pray every day for divine assistance for him and those he chooses to surround himself with. That being said though, I am afraid of his known associates, but I am even more afraid of his unknown associates (yes, I do think there is more to his story than we know).
And finally, I am sick and tired of the love-fest! I am tired of hearing nothing on the TV but the Obama's, the O'bama's, the O'bama's. He's in, he's president. Now let's move on and see what he does.

Whew, I feel better. Take it or leave it, I got this off my chest and now, I too am determined to move forward. I'm turning off the news channels and finding a good re-run of Law & Order.......
Happy Wednesday and if anyone has the answers to my burning questions, do please, enlighten me.....

Tickle Me Pink Tuesday

Things that are just "tickling me pink" today:

My new yoga mat, which happens to be pink. Annnnnnnd, that one of my best besties gave me a 5.00 off coupon for it!

The fact that I did NOT have to do the arm straps last Thursday, since everyone is STILL complaining about them!

That my son had a great first date!

Venus the electric sex leg lamp!

My new CD - "Now that's what I call Country" - don't judge me.

On-line banking. A couple of clicks and bills are paid, checking account is balanced and I know EXACTLY how much I have to spend! (or not spend)......

What just "tickles you pink" today?

A plea for help.....

Please go visit my friend the Shark. She and the darling, curly-haired, precocious imp, who is her son needs our help!

Leg Lamp saga cont....Size DOES matter

Oh, the very fun of it all!
I came home from Burley to a delicious little prize from the uber-cool Tiburon. She, knowing my envy for the leg lamp found a DE-LIGHT-FUL little, I mean big, item for me......

I have dubbed her "Venus". Great name right? Very electric sexy right? And for extra giggles, I have her on my desk at work right next to my Elder who would get a kick out of it!
Well, now with all of Martha's taunting and such, I certainly was more than willing to dish it back and make her slightly jealous.

Venus is after all BIGGER than little 'ole Alegra.

Aaaaaannnnnnd, her fishnets are REAL! Not a lot of work got done this morning what with all the coveting and envying going on. Even people who don't work with us, came over to get in on the action. I should have started to charge for all the stroking of her leg that was going on. Would my employer have frowned on such pimping??
At any rate, I LOVE my little, I mean bigger than Martha's, electric sex leg lamp and Venus will now reside desktop to brighten my every day at work.
Thanks Tiburon - you ROCK!! Make-out session, back on! And Miss Martie? Eat your freakin, taunting heart out!!

Vive la Chile! Missionary Monday Update - calling your prayers.....

Elder Catmull

No pictures came through. We are thinking there is a problem with the PC he is using. BUMMER! Not gonna lie, feeling some discouragement for him as his Mom. Hoping things will turn around for him. This has definitely been the hardest time he has had on his mission so far! waaaahhhh. This is gonna be a long week for me too, until I hear from him again, and know that he is okay. This boy is my "sunshine" boy, so for him to be discouraged is a big deal. Keep fingers crossed that he survives until the transfers........
