A pretty "Sweet" afternoon!

Chloee is out of school all week.  See, remember it's A SCHOOL and not a daycare, so they have spring break just like every other school does.

Splenda and I kind of broke up the week with our days off, and today was one of my days to spend with Chloee and have some fun.

Debbie and Ree have their son in our same school so we scheduled a tour of the 'Sweets' candy factory
(image taken from their website)

Chloee, Karalee and I met Debbie and Liam at their place and headed out to the factory

Once inside, you have to remove all jewelry and check your camera and purses and don your special candy makers hat.
We watched a short video and then  our tour guide gathered us up and started our tour.
It was about 40 minutes long and very interesting, but he did mention that it was lunchtime and so many of the areas, we didn't see as many workers and machines in process as we might have seen at an earlier or later time.

It was still fascinating to see how much sugar and chocolate they use daily.  Did you know it takes 1 week to make 1 jelly bean?  Yeah, I didn't know that either.

At different points they allowed us to sample some of the candies made in that particular area.  Of course the chocolate room was Chloee's favorite.  Just smelling it made her smile!

After the tour, we browsed the shop area where the prices are amazing for their candy.  No mark up here so you are getting it dang cheap.  Chloee chose some Easter candy corn for her, some sour cubbies to send to her Daddy and of course I grabbed some chocolate cinnamon bears.

Don't we look so cute in our candy makers hats?

Our cute tour guide 'B' happened to be a mission comp of a young man in our ward!

Got his name and number so Momma can contact him for the homecoming!  : )

Thanks Deb for putting this together and inviting us along - keep Friday open for another adventure before out littles go back to school!

How fun! I totally want to tour the Nestle plant where Lance works...I imagine it would be like a reading rainbow episode but other wives have told me it's just depressing...maybe I'll just have to tour the candy plant instead!: )

YOU are grandma Superb-o.
Looks llike that would have been a lot of fun. I would have been trying to stash jelly beans in my pockets.

That is a pretty darned cool tour. I wonder why no jewelry? I'd love to find a diamond in a taffy someday.

I love field trips with the GRANDgirls! We have a lot of them just so they don't drive me crazy all day long around this house. We are always busy and it makes life much more fun for me too.
