How a typical Thursday became a FUNDAY!

I've been planning on attending this OpenWater Swim clinic Thursday evening.  It was free, all I had to do was register and show up.  I figured with the Jordanelle Tri coming up and my experience last time in the open water, that it might be a good idea to have some professional training.

The boys, on the other hand, had planned on spending the ENTIRE day at the lake with some wave runners.  I didn't feel like I could take ANOTHER day off - so I was just going to maybe pass cross paths with them later before my clinic.

I get to work, get going on my day and realize that I prolly should see which harbor at Utah Lake I am supposed to go to.  Get to the event's website and there is a big message.  "We're sorry, but this event has been cancelled."  REALLY?  What the? 

The few gears in my brain started to turn.  I already had the wet suit rented.  Splenda and the boys were already at the lake.  Why not join them?  While they are tearing it up on the wave runners, I can train in a cove somewhere.  Splenda can be nearby if I get into trouble.  Good plan.

Clear things with my boss, put "out of office" on my email, and wouldn't you know it, my long weekend, just got longer!!

Wish I had a waterproof/underwater camera.  I would have gotten much better pictures from the ACTUAL wave runner itself, instead of from the shore with the zoom on!

It was a fun afternoon.  I got some hardcore training in.  Played around on the waverunners and tube for awhile.  Watched my boys acting like men men acting like boys.

And to Mr. Jordanelle Tri next weekend?  I am SO taking you!
