Cancun - day 4 SHOPPING!

So, the weather was supposed to be cloudy and chance of rain, however, after pounding out 5 miles of hill training, some core and upper body work, I noticed the sun coming out BEE-U-TEEE-FUL as I walked back to my villa.

Next thing I knew, I was in a two piece and soaking up some glorious rays.  And I do mean GLORIOUS!

After a few hours, we cleaned up, caught a bus downtown and started our shopping off at Mercado Bente-ocho.(sp?)

(apparently the bag they wrapped my prizes in is the Mexican Gucci bag.  Jealous?)

From there we headed to the Walmart.  Now back at home I fondly refer to my local Walmart as the Mexi-Mart.  Here - it is LEGIT!

They even have covered parking.

WTC???  In Mexico, they get covered parking but at the Walmart but in the states, we have to fight each other for a spot that's 8 miles away?

I will say though, we have them bested on the bathroom situation.

No seats.  You cannot flush paper, so after wiping, it goes in the trash can.  There is soap and water to wash your hands, but nothing to dry them with.  Good.times.

We caught the bus back to our resort and had just enough time to put everything away before catching another bus to go to dinner.

Captain's Cove.

It's a tradition for us here.  And this year did not disappoint.

I got the special Yucatahn Grouper.

Seriously to die for!  The freshest of fresh with the best seasonings.  Servied with pico de gallo and guacamole!

Luka is feeling ill so he stayed behind and we ordered him something from the resorts take out menu.  Poor kid.  Hope he is feeling better tomorrow, we have a big day planned!

And finally tonight, sitting in the sports bar, watching a bunch of drunken fools do karaoke.  The kids are egging me on.....Might have to try.......Stone cold sober, but might have to give it a whirl.

  3. Watching karaoke (drunk or not) is great entertainment. Especially when you get some real singers up there. Enjoy!

  5. I am really glad I am not reading about all of this sunny fun while it is snowing here. We are finally having gorgeous weather too...well not as gorgeous as Cancun, but still much much better than Jan and Feb! We are 10 days into March and no snow yet! Woo Hoo!

    I love shopping on vacation.

  8. Ok, I can't get past the toilet thing... I hope you put paper down on that seat-less monster...or did you have to buy each square from the little old lady in the corner for .25 each? (hopefully Cancun is waaaay different that Tijuana was 15 years ago!)
