The Gauntlet has been thrown...

The Great White Shark issued a little challenge yesterday on her daily Bucket Filler. It is to create a Life List or Bucket List if you will. Things you want to accomplish before you "kick the bucket".
After my own brush with the other side last year, exactly one year on February 8th as a matter of fact, but I digress, I had actually kind of started one in my head. Now that Tib issued the challenge, it means putting them in writing which in turn means that I really have to work on them since I have not only said them out loud, but put them in actual writing. And, the beauty of it? I can add to it as I go along!

Funny Bone Friday - Things I may have heard, or said, or just thought in my head

1. "See, you're a talker, and I LIKE that."

2. "I took the liberty with the S - and she liked it."

3. "I think somebody needs to make cookies, and that somebody ain't me."

4. "Just go by and sniff. He smells good."

5. I totally just flipped her off in my head.

6. "See, going early means that we miss the line because they're not ready, which means we don't have to talk to the bride's family. Remember that we hate them?"

7. "Are you gonna get some lippage?"

8. "For the few brief minutes I have been in this room, I have wanted to physically harm her 3 different times."

9. "It's so cold, my nose hairs hurt!"

10. "Did you just say 'The Angry Whopper is the best thing I have ever eaten in my whole life'? Really?!? This kid needs to get out more.

Announcing an IMPORTANT announcement!

Wha? Huh?
Yeah, I realize that the title of this post didn't make sense, nor is grammatically correct, but whatevah, I got your attention didn't I?
The beloved, first time author who brought us "Finding Faith",, is now pleased to announce the release of her second in the series "Having Hope"
In her words, "My editor emailed back and said "Having Hope" should be in the warehouse any day now. It will take a few weeks to show up in all stores. Of course, people will be able to get it directly from me (autographed and at a special promo price even!) as soon as it is in my hot little hands"

About the author Terri Ferran: She is my favorite SIL who has always wanted to be an author. She finally took a leap of faith a couple of years ago and look what has happened! Not only a second in her trilogy now ready for release, but another fun little ditty called "Alphabet Soup: A Crock of Wit from A to Z" is on it's way. My review:
I LOVED "Finding Faith". I LOVED the draft I read of "Having Hope" and can't wait to see the finished product, and LOVED the draft for "Alphabet Soup.." which is scheduled to be released in August.

I'm so incredibly proud of her and her achievements. She really is the epitome of "following your dreams". She inspires me! Yeah for you my sistah from another mistah!
PS - You can totally tell that I am NOT a writer right? I cringe to think how many errors there are just in THIS post. Whatevah - sue me! Terri's her name, writing's her game, Melissa's my name and my writing is lame......

Thankful Thursday

Today is unusual in that I am feeling extremely thankful for a few VERY specific things. No snarkiness from me this week, sorry if that disappoints but strangely enough, feeling a little serious and spiritual. Whoa!

I am SO thankful that Elder L has had the changes in his mission that he has. See his last update here. I worry a ton about him, cause I am a worrier, and I know that he doesn't even tell us everything. I am just glad to know that the necessary changes got made, that he is safe and more than anything, that he is happy. As a parent you know you're only as happy as your saddest child. And right now, I am feeling pretty happy since sad is not on the radar so much for my three right now .

I am SO thankful that I have the belief system that I do. In my church, we are divided into wards and our ward becomes family. My good friend - my ward sister - a gal I visit teach, lost her sister last week in a murder-suicide. As hard as it is to watch her go through this, there is something to be said about our ward family that just seems to come together for each other especially in times like this. Amazing.

I am SO thankful that divine guidance actually exists. One of my "boys", a bestie of L's, was the passenger in a small plane that emergency landed last night on the highway. After I got off the phone with him this morning, there is no doubt in my mind, or his, that his pilot did not land that plane alone. Interesting to talk with someone who sincerely believed he was going to die. The thoughts that were in his head and how he felt when he realized they were safe are beyond my imagination. I am thankful, Griff is still here!

Hey yo Al - If I needed to be told whether or not I know anything or that my children shouldn't listen to me, I could have just asked my teenagers. DUH!
What's more sad? That he perpetuates this wild myth, or that people PAY him to speak it?
